BREAZE is keen to provide our members with practical solutions to reducing greenhouse emissions, not just talk about it. Heating hot water by using fossil fuels is pretty crazy when there is a perfectly good source of heat hitting all of our roofs.
Yet although using the sun is a 'no-brainer', solar hot water systems are conspicuous by their absence on roofs in the Ballarat region. How come? Too confusing? Too pricey? Thus one of our first ventures was to look into various solar hot water systems on the market and, via the power of 'collective purchasing power', negotiate a cheaper price. ![]() BREAZE's Strategic Plan ('Ballarat Beyond Carbon' 2010-2013) has the target that "80% of gas and 100% of electric hot water systems in Ballarat will be replaced with solar hot water".
How can we begin to achieve this? Well, we've already made a pretty good start! Frankly, BREAZE does not mind what sort of solar hot water system you get, or where you purchase it from. However, in order to give this ambitious target a real 'push along' it has made sense that BREAZE become a direct supplier of Solar Hot Water and after considerable research we are very comfortable with the system we are offering. And in order to increase the incentive to take action to reduce your emissions, BREAZE will:
The documents below (all Download links) are designed to be read in the sequence below, be useful and help you determine things like what rebates you are eligible for (thank heavens none of which are means-tested!), prices, choices of systems etc. They are also available to view and download in the Document Library - Solar Hot Water The ‘Enquiry Form’ is the key document to submit, should you desire a quotation on a solar hot water system. HOWEVER! If you have any general enquiries or feel vaguely confused by it all, the key points of contact to BREAZE are:
