12 green homes in Ballarat will open their doors to the public for the ninth annual Sustainable House Day on Sunday 12 September. The day is a showcase of our country’s most environmentally sustainable and innovative homes that invest in renewable energy, recycling and other practices designed to reduce pollution.
More and more savvy homeowners are realising the benefits of investing in sustainable living technology in their homes which not only presents energy savings but financial savings too. Sustainable House Day provides a unique opportunity for people to meet with home owners who have ‘been there, done that’ and are able to provide unbiased advice about their own personal experience. There is nothing more valuable! Kick off the day at 9am with local sustainable building expert, Phillip Meaney and discover the basic principles of a sustainable home. Phillip will be followed by Stephen Higgs, Ballarat Grammar Principal, who will talk through the sustainable features of the shool's Heinz Centre. From 10am - 4pm, twelve houses in and around Ballarat will be open for people to view. Owners will be there to answer any questions!
A mini-bus will be available for two tours: 10am & 1pm - departing from the Heinz Centre at Ballarat Grammar. Seats are limited and will cost $10, so get there early to book your seat! Otherwise, you can register with others to car pool your way around the homes.
Download the poster, pin it up and let others know about this great event!
