Retro-fitting & Renewable Energy - Sustainable Homes & Renewable Energy

The state of play with Retro-renewables at the end of 2008 and into 2009.

The Solar Hot Water Initiative and the Solar Electricity Project have taken full flight, and are now projects in their own right, under the R&R banner.  Recently Solar in Schools has taken off, and June 2008 saw the successful running of our local Sustainanble House Day.

If retrofitting houses for a sustainable future, and renewable energy is your passion - this could be the leadreship position for you!

With the spread of concern about climate change, people are keen to know what they can do about it at home. At retro-renewable meetings (courtesy of the Ballarat Harriers), there has been a buzz of interest and enthusiasm. Our focus is on practical things we can do, both individually and as a group.

Five groups are concentrating on key areas:

Our two electricians have produced a great display of lighting options.

We’ve seen innovative do-it-yourself double-glazing and also examined a hybrid car and an electric car.

Check the Events calendar for up coming projects and meetings for the Retro-Renewable group.

If you would like to get involved with the Retro-renewable Action group, we'd love to have you on board!
