Work continues apace on the development of the BREAZE Local. Not much of it involves tipping bags of rice into small containers yet but its all valuable stuff nevertheless.

An Initial Vision (May 2010)

The following is a description of what a BREAZE Local store might look like, based on the discussion that took place on the Stakeholder Meeting Day. Plenty of water will flow under the bridge between now and when the doors open so what you read below is really only a ‘working vision’ which gives an idea of what we’re imagining at the moment, rather than anything you can bet your house on. Once we've completed more detailed business planning, the final version may indeed be very different from this vision.

Stakeholder Meeting - February 2010

A group of 20-30 people gathered at the Ballarat South Uniting Church Mission Centre on a Saturday afternoon to talk about what sort of store they'd like the BREAZE Local to be. You can look at the slide show we used for the day here to get a sense of what we covered.

As you may know, plans are afoot to start a food co-op that supplies tucker with a low-emissions footprint in Ballarat. This survey has been completed and we are compiling the information about the type of food you'd like to buy and how it would suit you to buy it. It's possible we may even branch out into sustainable non-food items if there is member interest.
