Replace HazelwoodA robust band of 20 BREAZE members, together with Climate Action Centre's Damien Lawson, braved the cold and wind to deliver the Replace Hazelwood message in person to Premier John Brumby.

In Ballarat to speak at a Rural Press Club lunch, he stopped his car and got out to talk to the protest and grabbed a pamphlet to take away and consider. He was probably disappointed to discover that Hazelwood wasn't just an inner-city, latte-sipper's issue.

A big thank you to all those who came along!

BREAZE today called on the Premier, John Brumby, to commit to replacing the Hazelwood Power Station with clean energy by 2012.

"Hazelwood is a dinosaur," said BREAZE Community Campaigner, Andrew Bray. "It's old; its the dirtiest power station in Australia and it supplies a good proportion of Ballarat's electricity. In 2010 we simply don't need to be producing this much pollution to make electricity."
