Wondering what all those people arriving in Ballarat in the next few decades will be doing for a crust? Have a look at how many more jobs we'd have here if our governments acted strongly on climate change. In 2009 there were 67,373 jobs in the Ballarat region. The modelling shows that this figure would increase by 37 per cent by 2030 with weak action to reduce pollution compared to 48 per cent with strong action. This means strong action would result in 7,239 more jobs than weak action would, including 3,140 in the services sector. See the full report here. |
